Job Description
A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Draft, negotiate, and finalise a broad range of commercial contracts with U.S. and international counterparties.
- Provide clear, practical advice to business stakeholders, balancing legal risk with commercial opportunity.
- Act as the first point of contact for legal queries from the offices in North America, collaborating with senior management and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Support cross-border transactions and projects, working closely with colleagues in London and across other international offices.
- Contribute to the development of legal processes, playbooks, and templates that will enhance efficiency and consistency across the department.
- Engage with compliance, governance, and risk management initiatives as the department expands.
Qualifications
WHAT DO WE LOOK FOR
- Contract drafting and negotiation experience (preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with attorneys, sales staff, administrative staff and senior management
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communicator to all organization seniority levels
- Comfortable with working under pressure and managing multiple priorities
- A creative, problem-solving mindset, with demonstrated ability to turn ideas into products or actions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Previous exposure to the sales bids process and previous experience with using a contract management system or other legal software.
- Minimum of 3 years of legal experience, with prior in-house legal role/experience required.
- Previous aviation industry experience is a plus
QUALIFICATIONS
- Admitted to the New York State Bar (or in another state); equivalent legal experience considered
