Responsibilities

Millennium Corporation is hiring a (Contracted) Systems Security Engineer in Annapolis, MD. This role requires an active Top Secret Clearance with eligibility for a CI Polygraph.

As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will design, implement, and secure IT systems that meet the highest federal security standards, ensuring compliance across hybrid and cloud-based environments. You’ll work directly with government stakeholders, the ISSM, and technical teams to safeguard sensitive information and maintain operational readiness.

You will also:

• Design, implement, and maintain secure IT systems within SCIF environments, ensuring adherence to federal cybersecurity policies and procedures.
• Provide senior-level system administration and engineering oversight across hardware, software, and network components.
• Collaborate with the ISSM to develop and enforce security policies aligned with NIST RMF and A&A requirements.
• Manage and harden cloud-based and hybrid infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, IBM Cloud).
• Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents; analyze data to identify trends and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct malware analysis, vulnerability scanning, and threat mitigation activities.
• Support development of System Security Plans (SSPs) and documentation for audits and security assessments.
• Lead disaster recovery planning and implementation of backup strategies.
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies, cyber threats, and federal compliance changes.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility to obtain a CI Polygraph

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field

• 10+ years of experience in IT systems engineering, cybersecurity, or related domains

• Strong understanding of NIST RMF, SCIF environments, and cybersecurity compliance

• Experience with system hardening, vulnerability management, and cyber testing ranges

• Familiarity with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle Cloud, IBM Cloud

• Experience with security infrastructure across networks, endpoints, and virtual environments

• Current CCNA certification

Business Development

Assist with Business Development activities as required to support Millennium's strategic business objectives, which may include but not limited to participation in technical interviews, creation of technical documentation, general proposal writing support and proposal color reviews.

Physical Requirements

• Must be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at a time.

Travel Requirements

Once a quarter

COMPENSATION:

$150K-$180K (Depending on experience).
