Manager of Enterprise Data, Reporting and Analytics

The Manager of Application Development and Integration Services (ADI) Operations will manage the workgroup responsible for maintaining and improving Middlebury’s enterprise reporting platform, data architecture and tooling and integrations for complex data storage for analytics. This position also plays a key role in assisting with or leading the implementation of new enterprise-wide and department systems from a data integrity, data management, and data integration best practices perspective for Middlebury and affiliated institutions.

A strong internal candidate is currently under consideration for this position; however, the role remains open and applications from all qualified individuals will be considered. Job posting will be up through October 22, 2025.

This is a full time, benefits eligible, salaried position with a hiring range of $88,197 - $112,497 per year.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize staff time, balancing ongoing maintenance with support for new projects with operational support; planning training and cross-training of staff where appropriate to maintain data integrity and security
  • Lead system management and service delivery with vendors with oversight to minimize unplanned service interruptions, effectively resolve functionality and performance-related issues, identify maintenance windows to minimize disruptive changes, perform functional and stress testing, and implement effective change management procedures.
  • Analyzes and delegates software development tasks to programming development staff.
  • Provides analysis and consultation to technical and functional staff to promote data-informed decision making.
  • Provide expertise in system and process analysis, project management, application development and design, programming standards and policies, system implementation and support, security design and data stewardship, and change management.
  • Lead peer groups and discussions, or delegate leadership to staff, on topics and training to support functional staff in optimizing usage of reporting and analytics tools and resources.
  • Maintain direct responsibility of the development, implementation, and support of reporting and analytics tools and services.
  • Cultivate a customer-focused, responsive team that encourages individual initiative, collaboration with colleagues and proactively seeks innovative solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years progressive experience in a technical field emphasizing software development, business analysis and technical project management.
  • Strong communication and planning skills consistent with effective management of an organizationally critical, complex, highly technical IT service organization.
  • Must have logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles and best practices of enterprise resource planning, enterprise reporting, and associated enterprise database applications.
  • Some knowledge of data preparation for analytics and principles of data governance are preferred Experience designing data models and/or complex SQL for reporting or analytics is preferred

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
