Responsibilities
- Greet and register patients accurately in the practice management system
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments; manage check-in and check-out processes
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain required referrals
- Answer and route incoming phone calls, take messages, and handle appointment-related inquiries
- Perform scanning, abstracting, and maintenance of patient medical records
- Retrieve patient records from other offices and hospitals as needed
- Support daily front-office business operations and contribute to smooth patient flow
- Provide professional, compassionate customer service in person and by phone
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited medical office or billing training program preferred
- Certification in Medical Interpretation required only if serving as a bilingual/multilingual interpreter
