Skills
- Strong clinical competency in veterinary medicine with the ability to interpret medical observations and lab data.
- Knowledge of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and toxicology relevant to veterinary drug development.
- Experience with medical monitoring, adverse event assessment, and safety signal evaluation.
- Familiarity with FDA CVM regulations, GCP, and clinical trial documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for collaborating with investigators and regulators.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment and manage multiple priorities.
Responsibilities
- Perform real-time medical monitoring of ongoing clinical trials and review clinical data, lab results, and adverse events.
- Assess pharmacology/toxicology profiles and translate findings into clinical decision-making and protocol refinement.
- Advise clinical research monitors, investigators, and operations teams on medical and safety-related actions.
- Contribute to design and development of clinical trial protocols from preclinical stages through FDA CVM submissions.
- Prepare and review regulatory and safety documentation, and support written communications with FDA CVM.
- Maintain meticulous records, uphold GCP standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Serve as veterinary subject-matter expert across R&D, drug development, and clinical operations.
- Occasional travel to investigator sites or meetings as required.
Education
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree required.
- Relevant clinical training and continuing education in pharmacology/toxicology recommended.
