Job Description

At LinkedIn, our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

This role will be based in San Francisco or Mountain View, CA

LinkedIn’s Finance organization is reimagining how we plan, operate, and scale. As part of this transformation, we’re seeking a Senior Director of Finance Technology to lead the evolution of our finance systems ecosystem - spanning Controllership, Strategic Finance, and emerging FinTech and AI capabilities.

This leader will define the next-generation technology and AI strategy for LinkedIn Finance - driving modernization across our ERP and connected systems while charting the path for how automation, agentic technologies, and intelligent platforms reshape the way we work. You’ll build the foundation for an AI-forward Finance organization that operates with greater velocity, precision, and scale across LinkedIn.

What You’ll Do

As the Senior Director of Finance Technology, you will:

  • Set a multi-year technology and AI strategy for LinkedIn Finance - modernizing ERP and financial systems while embedding intelligence and automation into core processes.
  • Lead Finance’s AI journey, identifying opportunities to augment decision-making, automate workflows, and scale capacity through agentic and low-code technologies.
  • Oversee and evolve our finance product roadmap across Controllership, Strategic Finance, and FinTech enablement (e.g., self-service payments and transactions on the LinkedIn platform).
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product Management teams to design, deliver, and scale custom solutions that meet Finance’s evolving needs - bringing business and operational considerations to our architecture & design decisions.
  • Define the future model for the business and engineering collaboration, balancing agility with governance as AI and low-code tools empower business teams to build solutions directly and engineering focuses on delivering connected, secure foundations.
  • Partner cross-functionally across the CFO organization, Engineering, Data, and Operations teams to align Finance’s technology foundation with LinkedIn’s enterprise priorities, architecture, and AI strategy.
  • Guide ERP modernization readiness, including business case development, sequencing, and architecture for LinkedIn’s next-generation financial platform.
  • Lead and inspire a diverse team of business product owners, process analysts, and program leaders - fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive technology leverage, ensuring every investment increases scalability, resilience, and efficiency across the CFO organization, with continuous focus on ROI.
  • Support large-scale change management efforts, helping the Finance organization adopt new systems, processes, and ways of working through clear communication, enablement, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 12 years+ leading large-scale enterprise technology, finance systems, or transformation programs
  • 6 years+ of people management
  • Proven tenure driving ERP modernization, large system integrations, or complex data and automation initiatives
  • Effective understanding of how enterprise systems, data architectures, and AI technologies enable business processes and scale
  • Change management experience, with the ability to guide organizations through technology-driven transformation
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders across Finance and Engineering
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years in the technology industry, with exposure to enterprise-scale systems, data, or engineering environments
  • 9 years+ of people management
  • Deep understanding of finance business processes (record-to-report, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, plan-to-forecast) and their technical enablement
  • Demonstrated partnership with Engineering and Product Management to define requirements, develop custom solutions, and bring new products or capabilities to life
  • Tenure modernizing ERP landscapes (SAP, Oracle, Workday, or equivalent) and integrating with analytics, automation, and AI ecosystems
  • Strategic fluency in emerging technologies such as generative AI, agentic systems, low-code/no-code platforms, and workflow automation
  • Leadership presence and ability to influence and align senior executives across Finance, Engineering, and enterprise functions
  • Exposure to SaaS, platform, or FinTech environments preferred
  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Information Systems, or related field
