The Global Health, Safety and Environment (GHSE) Affiliate team sets the global strategy and provides direction for HSE operations in Sales & Marketing Affiliates and Global Business Solutions (GBS) sites to improve HSE performance. The Associate Director/Director of global HSE is recognized as the Affiliate HSE subject matter expert providing support on programming, operations, and safety initiatives for Affiliates & GBS sites globally.

Key Objectives/Deliverables

  • Responsible for the HSE Directions program and related requirements.

  • Develop and lead the global HSE affiliate strategy, including goals, tools, resources, training materials, and communications.

  • Manage, analyze, and communicate HSE metrics to support ongoing improvement.

  • Provide HSE representative training, perform compliance assessments, conduct individualized coaching, and offer ongoing support for affiliate programs.

  • Assess and communicate effects of HSE regulations concerning affiliate aspects.

  • Anticipate change, develop action plans, and lead activities for new requirements.

  • Participate and serve as technical expert in internal meetings.

  • Conduct external benchmarking with participating organizations/peer companies.

The role will drive continuous performance improvements by:

  • Offering expertise in all areas of the HSE Directions program and safety culture.

  • Supporting the evaluation of local HSE programs/activities and development of action plans (e.g., roadmaps, safety culture plans, etc.)

  • Influencing senior leaders, line management, peers, and other stakeholders to implement the HSE Directions program and effectively deliver on requirements.

  • Developing and implementing global tools and resources to enhance the fulfilment of local HSE responsibilities (e.g., toolkits, training, coaching, etc.)

  • Offering guidance and support for HSE incidents, including reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and Notification to Management submissions.

  • Providing support in response to HSE audit observations.

  • Identifying opportunities for improving technologies, processes, and services.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • 5 or more years professional experience in HSE or related discipline.

Additional Preferences:

  • Professional Health, Safety, and/or Environmental Certification

  • Knowledge of Affiliate Sales & Marketing and Global Business Solutions operations and the HSE Directions program and related aspects.

  • Working knowledge of global HSE standards, protocols, requirements, and regulations.

  • Ability to develop and implement globally applicable HSE programs/campaigns.

  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communications skills.

  • Ability to effectively listen and communicate cross-culturally.

  • Ability to interact with and influence all levels of management.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to analyze and effectively respond to numerical data.

  • Initiative and problem-solving skills to pursue issues and move to action,

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$111,000 - $178,200

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
