Skills
- Production Python development (APIs, data processing, testing)
- Experience with FastAPI, Pydantic, or similar frameworks
- Strong SQL and familiarity with NoSQL databases
- Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation)
- CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions or similar) and development workflows
- Frontend familiarity (React, TypeScript) for cross-stack collaboration
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance, secure backend services and APIs (CRUD, data pipelines, and integrations).
- Optimize system performance and reliability to support low-latency, large-scale scientific workloads.
- Collaborate with ML researchers, data engineers, and scientists to integrate models, data pipelines, and tooling into production workflows.
- Implement and operate cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes, containerization, and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
- Own CI/CD pipelines, observability, and deployment practices to ensure safe, repeatable releases.
- Write clear documentation, tests, and maintainable code following best practices (git workflows, code review).
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Equivalent practical experience in software engineering considered
