The role you’ll play

As Director of Engineering, you will lead two product teams, a platform engineering team, and a technical enablement team during a critical transformation toward a product-focused operating model.

This role combines strategic and hands-on leadership, empowers cross-team collaboration, and champions engineering excellence. Your focus will be on technical vision, team enablement, and ensuring seamless delivery of innovative, scalable, and secure technology solutions

You will be part of a dynamic, international engineering organization committed to building high-impact products and platforms.

The teams you manage—two core product teams, platform engineering, and technical enablement—are at the heart of a transformative journey, influencing how technology serves business goals and enabling all engineers to be at their best. You'll work closely with product management, architecture, and other tech leaders to align on strategy and foster a collaborative, feedback-rich environment.

You will work closely with other Directors of Engineering and our VP to define strategy and drive the transformation forward, jointly manage cross-team dependencies, and proactively address potential bottlenecks. You will also collaborate with a Director of Product counterpart to ensure the seamless alignment of engineering and product priorities. Together with your peer directors, you will coordinate complex multi-team projects, facilitating transparent communication, resolving interdependencies, and steering teams toward shared goals. This collective effort fosters an environment where knowledge and resources are shared, ensuring the successful delivery of ambitious, organization-wide initiatives.

What you’ll need to bring

  • Demonstrated success in leading and scaling product teams, preferably during a transformation period.
  • Deep technical expertise in software engineering, cloud platforms, DevOps, architecture, QA and databases practices.
  • Proven ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels—balancing vision-setting with hands-on leadership.
  • Experience leveraging engineering metrics & KPIs (e.g. DORA) to identify bottlenecks, balance speed with stability, and drive initiatives that enhance software delivery and team effectiveness.
  • Experience collaborating with product and business counterparts to create a data-driven culture, where metrics and user feedback drive continuous product improvement and innovation from concept through release.
  • Strong mentoring, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience measured by delivered results in technically complex and fast-paced environments.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in English.
