Skills
- Production-grade Node.js and TypeScript expertise (Fastify or Express)
- Designing and implementing RESTful and/or RPC-style APIs
- Experience integrating with complex third-party systems and handling data sync/versioning
- Familiarity with GraphQL (plus)
- Database proficiency with RDBMS and SQL (Postgres or MySQL)
- Experience integrating AI/ML services (LLMs, OpenAI/Anthropic) into production
- Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS preferred: ECS, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch)
- CI/CD, observability, and application performance monitoring
- Comfort reading and modifying React/Next.js frontends when needed
- Experience working remotely with distributed teams and participating in on-call rotations
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines powering customer-facing and internal applications.
- Architect and build scalable Node.js/TypeScript services that integrate with frontend experiences.
- Own end-to-end delivery of complex integrations with third-party lending systems, ensuring robust data synchronization and error handling.
- Integrate AI/ML services (LLMs, ML APIs) into production features for ranking, scoring, or decision support.
- Collaborate with product, design, and business partners to deliver pragmatic, product-minded solutions.
- Champion best practices in architecture, security, testing, monitoring, and deployments.
- Mentor peers, share knowledge, and explore new tools and approaches to improve the platform.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to ensure system reliability and rapid incident response.
- Occasionally contribute to frontend (React/Next.js) work to support full-stack delivery.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience
- Open to candidates with equivalent professional software engineering experience in lieu of formal degree
