Khan Academy is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for Summer 2026 to help improve educational outcomes through software development. This role is remote and focuses on using various technologies, including Go and JavaScript, to create impactful tools and solutions for learners and educators.
Responsibilities: Interns will work on projects like speech-to-text tools, user interface enhancements, and classroom tools, contributing to meaningful educational products used by millions.
Skills: Candidates should have previous software internship experience and be enrolled in computer science or related fields, with strong communication skills and a commitment to learning.
Qualifications: Applicants should be rising juniors or seniors expected to graduate in 2027 or 2028, with the ability to start in May or June 2026 and be available for 10-12 weeks during the internship.
Location: This position is remote and open to candidates located in the United States or Canada.
Compensation: $40 - $46 / Hourly

The target salary range for this position is $40.38 - $46.15 USD / $54.51 - $62.30 CAD. The pay range for this position is a general guideline only.
The salary offered will depend on internal pay equity and the candidate’s relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and job market data.
