Speechwriter - STARCOM

Title:

KBR is seeking a Speechwriter to provide on-site support to Headquarters Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM) located at Patrick Space Force Base in Florida.

A strong candidate has speechwriting experience in space mission areas. In this position, you will:

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and attend meetings to discuss STARCOM/CC public speaking engagements.
• Detail topics, intended audience, presentation materials, and desired formats for each engagement.
• Provide draft full-text speeches, informal remarks, and presentation materials for the STARCOM/CC for scheduled and unscheduled public speaking engagements.
• Provide products within specified timelines, IAW strategic level communications plan, utilizing research and analysis of current events related to the topic, and tailored to the intended audience.
• Provide draft scripts for STARCOM/CC use in recorded and virtual messages to worldwide members of the United States Space Force.
• Draft communications scripts.
• Travel may be required for limited durations to support Customer events.

Qualifications:

Required:

• An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.
• 3+ years of speechwriting experience.
• BA/BS degree (5 years of relevant experience may substitute).
• Headquarters experience in the US Space Force, US Air Force, Combatant Command, SpOC, STARCOM or equivalent.
• Experience with providing strategic advice, technical guidance, analysis and recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare quality products for senior leaders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and turn staff products rapidly in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work with both internal and external senior leaders, offices, directorates, and action officers.
• The ability to work in a secure, confined location (i.e., SCIF).

Desired:

• Experience with US Space Force weapon systems and missions.
• MA/MS degree.

• Location: On-site
• Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
• Working Hours: Standard
