Technical Support Specialist - Merchant Onboarding

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Technical Support Specialist - Merchant Onboarding in the United States.

We are seeking a Technical Support Specialist to guide merchants through complex onboarding processes and ensure a seamless integration experience. In this role, you will serve as a technical escalation point, troubleshooting API, SDK, and integration issues, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. You will provide hands-on technical support, read and debug code, and develop reusable solutions to streamline onboarding. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, customer-focused environment, enjoys problem-solving at both technical and strategic levels, and is passionate about delivering fast, stable, and scalable merchant launches.

Accountabilities:

·        Serve as the primary technical escalation point for merchant onboarding and configuration issues.

·        Troubleshoot integration challenges, including APIs, SDKs, webhooks, plug-ins, and checkout flows.

·        Read, analyze, and explain code (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS; backend knowledge a plus) to resolve merchant issues.

·        Collaborate cross-functionally with Implementation, Engineering, and Customer Operations teams.

·        Identify potential risks and dependencies to ensure smooth merchant launches.

·        Develop reusable solutions, documentation, tools, code snippets, and templates for recurring issues.

·        Support merchants in test and production environments through to go-live.

·        Participate in merchant calls, debugging sessions, and on-call rotations as needed.

·        3–5 years of experience in technical support, onboarding, or implementation within SaaS, payments, or e-commerce.

·        Strong ability to read, analyze, and debug code (JavaScript/TypeScript required; Python, Go, Java a plus).

·        Deep understanding of REST APIs, authentication, and system integrations.

·        Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

·        Analytical and proactive mindset, capable of identifying root causes and preventing future issues.

·        Strong ownership and ability to manage merchants and internal follow-ups independently.

·        Bonus experience: Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Postman, Datadog, GitHub, browser developer tools, payments or checkout systems, scripting/automation, mentoring peers on troubleshooting.

·        Contract-to-hire opportunity with flat monthly contract rate of $6,667 USD.
