Staff Software Engineer, Release Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to drive the design, development, and automation of release engineering systems. In this role, you will lead efforts to streamline the entire software release lifecycle, ensuring predictable, reliable, and fully automated delivery pipelines. You will collaborate across engineering teams to build scalable systems, implement CI/CD best practices, and enhance operational efficiency. This position requires deep technical expertise, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to influence engineering practices at scale. Your work will directly impact software quality, deployment reliability, and the developer experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Accountabilities:
• Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle for release engineering systems, from design and implementation to deployment and operation.
• Design and build automation frameworks that orchestrate release workflows with minimal human intervention.
• Develop and maintain build tooling, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure to ensure consistency, safety, and scalability.
• Operate and maintain production-grade systems, participating in on-call rotations as needed.
• Define and uphold technical standards for reliability, maintainability, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to continuously improve automation, release cadence, and feedback loops.
• Document system architecture, operational procedures, and best practices for internal knowledge sharing.
• Requirements:
• Proven experience in release engineering, build systems, or deployment automation at scale.
• Strong software engineering background, with proficiency in modern programming languages (Go preferred).
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration systems, such as Temporal, or similar platforms.
• Experience with Kubernetes, containerized deployments, and major cloud providers (AWS, GCP).
• Solid understanding of operating systems, networking, CI/CD pipelines, and release automation best practices.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a distributed team.
• Strong sense of ownership and pride in delivering systems that simplify and automate complex workflows.
