Staff Software Engineer - Patient Outcomes (Remote)

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on mental health care by developing scalable, high-quality software that directly improves patient outcomes. You will work on a team focused on ensuring patients access and stay engaged with care, tackling challenges from registration and activation to measurement-informed systems that track progress and outcomes. This position blends technical leadership with collaboration across product, design, and clinical teams, allowing you to shape system architectures, mentor engineers, and influence both patient and business results. The role is fully remote within the United States, providing flexibility while working on high-impact projects in a mission-driven environment.

Accountabilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems that directly support patient outcomes.
• Lead technical projects end-to-end, balancing trade-offs and aligning system design with product and patient goals.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, clinicians, and engineering teams to translate requirements into actionable technical solutions.
• Mentor and guide engineers, conduct architecture reviews, and raise technical standards across the team.
• Drive improvements in patient registration, activation, and engagement systems, expanding into measurement-informed care initiatives.
• Ensure data pipelines and systems capture, analyze, and act on patient outcomes effectively.

• 8+ years of experience building and maintaining scalable, production-ready systems.
• Strong expertise in API design, data modeling, and building maintainable, performant systems.
• Proven experience designing system architectures and making informed trade-off decisions.
• Track record of leading complex technical projects across teams, aligning execution with business objectives.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to build consensus, surface risks, and clarify ambiguous problems.
• Experience mentoring engineers, conducting architecture reviews, and elevating technical standards.
• Preferred: Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, familiarity with data-intensive systems, modern infrastructure, and startup environments.
