We are seeking an experienced backend engineer to join a dynamic team responsible for building and scaling the core systems that power a major productivity platform. In this role, you will design, maintain, and optimize distributed, high-throughput backend services, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver critical features that impact millions of users. The ideal candidate is passionate about distributed systems, database optimization, and clean, maintainable code. • Accountabilities:
• Develop, maintain, and scale robust backend services using Node.js, Express, and NestJS.
• Design and optimize database queries and data models for performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues to ensure smooth, high-performance operations.
• Collaborate across teams—including product, design, and engineering—to deliver impactful features.
• Continuously improve existing codebases for efficiency, maintainability, and scalability.
• Share technical expertise to mentor colleagues and promote a culture of learning and growth.
• Contribute to the architecture and evolution of a distributed, high-throughput system that underpins critical platform functionality.
• Requirements:
• 8+ years of professional experience developing backend services for SaaS products.
• Proven experience building and scaling backend systems in production environments.
• Strong expertise in relational databases, query optimization (PostgreSQL preferred), and data modeling.
• Experience with RESTful API design, microservices, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and version control systems (Git).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities for working with cross-functional teams.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.
• Professional experience with Typescript, Golang, or Python.
