Join a purpose-driven team at the intersection of climate solutions and strategic communications. This role offers the opportunity to transform complex, technical, and regulatory information into impactful, accessible content for a wide range of audiences. You’ll work closely with subject matter experts, project teams, and clients to draft reports, white papers, proposals, and more — all while upholding a strong, cohesive voice across deliverables. Ideal for a seasoned writer with a passion for clean energy and a talent for clarity, this role combines creativity, precision, and collaboration in a remote-friendly environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and edit high-quality content including reports, research papers, policy documents, industry articles, blog posts, and more.
  • Translate complex regulatory and technical information into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Collaborate across departments to align messaging, gather technical input, and maintain consistency with editorial standards.
  • Lead multi-author editing processes to unify tone and structure across collaborative deliverables.
  • Support the creation of proposals and RFP responses that drive business development initiatives.
  • Work closely with creative teams to incorporate visual elements that enhance communication and storytelling.
  • Manage content libraries and assist colleagues with editorial questions, grammar, and formatting in Microsoft Word.
  • Continuously deepen your knowledge of clean energy topics, client goals, and strategic priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, journalism, philosophy, or another writing-intensive field.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience, ideally related to civil engineering, energy, climate, or regulatory topics.
  • Proven ability to lead end-to-end writing projects and manage high-visibility deliverables independently.
  • Exceptional editing and storytelling skills with a deep understanding of structure, tone, and technical clarity.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and familiarity with academic publishing and citation practices.
  • Strong command of digital collaboration tools including Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint); Slack, SharePoint, and Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable working remotely with multidisciplinary teams.
  • A personal or professional commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility is strongly valued.
  • A writing sample and copyediting test will be required as part of the hiring process.
  • Salary range: $92,000 – $125,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
