Software Engineer III (Backend Engineer)

Accountabilities:

·         Develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.

·         Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design robust solutions.

·         Optimize and enhance existing systems for performance, reliability, and low latency.

·         Implement and enforce best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment.

·         Explore and integrate emerging technologies, including generative AI, to enhance backend processes and student outcomes.

·         Troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently.

·         Participate in code reviews and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

·         3+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend development, with hands-on production code experience.

·         Strong background in building scalable, reliable, and performant microservices.

·         Experience with Go, Node, or Ruby, and proficiency with GraphQL and REST APIs.

·         Familiarity with databases such as Postgres, CockroachDB, and Redis.

·         Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms and CI/CD tools like CircleCI.

·         Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and a genuine interest in using technology to improve learning experiences.

·         Nice-to-have: experience with Docker, Kafka, and integrating generative AI solutions.
