This role offers an exciting opportunity to build and scale high-impact backend systems on AWS, directly shaping how millions of users interact with real-time applications. The position allows you to own projects end-to-end, work closely with architecture leadership, and influence infrastructure and performance decisions. Accountabilities

• Own assigned backend projects from design through deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with architecture leadership to design, optimize, and scale AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, ECS, S3, IAM, etc.).
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, monitor system health, and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Contribute to architectural decisions across the stack, ensuring reliability, maintainability, and scalability.
• Write clean, tested, and maintainable code, and review code written by peers to enforce best practices.
• Identify areas for system improvement, proactively addressing technical challenges and bottlenecks.

• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience as a Backend / Infrastructure Software Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails and SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL).
• Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, ECS, S3, IAM, etc.) or Google Cloud in commercial settings.
• Comfortable with CI/CD workflows, Linux environments, and software architecture principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills, tenacity, and the ability to work independently on complex engineering challenges.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Preferred: experience with distributed systems, performance tuning for high-volume traffic, and Apache Spark.
