Principal Product Manager, Payments Platform (Remote - US)

As a Principal Product Manager, Payments Platform, you will be responsible for shaping the future of scalable, secure, and innovative payment systems that support multiple product lines. This role requires strong technical expertise in payments architecture, the ability to bridge engineering and business priorities, and a deep focus on customer experience. You will lead efforts to enhance payment methods, expand bill pay solutions, and drive cross-platform standardization. With strategic vision and hands-on execution, you’ll ensure the payments platform continues to meet the evolving needs of users, product teams, and business goals in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Partner with engineering to define and execute the vision and roadmap for the payments platform, aligning business goals with technical priorities and customer needs.
  • Lead the design and optimization of services, tools, and infrastructure to ensure scalability, configurability, and ease of integration across product lines.
  • Expand and standardize payment methods, including mobile wallets, while enhancing bill pay solutions.
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to meet regulatory and industry standards.
  • Conduct discovery, analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and iterate solutions to improve performance, user experience, and efficiency.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (finance, marketing, and product) to establish pricing and GTM strategies for new payment features.
  • Balance strategic vision with hands-on problem-solving to deliver simple, customer-focused solutions.
  • 7–10 years of experience taking technical products to market, with proven expertise in scaling payments platforms that emphasize security, usability, and adoption.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to discuss architectural concepts, trade-offs, and opportunities with engineering teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in fintech or payments, with deep knowledge of payment platform architecture.
  • Experience launching shared services or platform solutions across multiple products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Familiarity with leveraging AI tools to improve workflows, decision-making, or product innovation.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for security, compliance, and innovation.
