PMO Leader - Accounting and Risk

As a strategic project leader, you will be at the heart of driving key initiatives across accounting, audit, and risk management functions. From external audits and regulatory readiness to system rollouts and cross-functional process improvements, you’ll ensure seamless execution of complex, high-impact projects. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with executive teams and external partners while influencing operational excellence in a dynamic, tech-forward environment. Accountabilities:

• Lead the execution of major projects across accounting and risk, such as regulatory audits, surprise exams, and compliance initiatives.
• Oversee system implementations and manage contracts, SoWs, and technology adoption relevant to finance and risk.
• Build and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and communication reports for both leadership and functional teams.
• Act as liaison with external stakeholders, coordinating documentation, deliverables, and timelines.
• Proactively identify and address project risks, blockers, or delays by aligning cross-functional teams.
• Support internal teams in meeting deadlines and requirements for audits, regulators, and consultants.
• Drive continuous improvements in project management practices, ensuring alignment with broader business strategies.

• 6+ years of project management experience, preferably in accounting, audit, or risk environments.
• Proven track record of managing multiple, high-complexity projects independently.
• Experience collaborating across departments and with third parties (auditors, consultants, tech vendors).
• Ability to create and manage detailed project plans, track deliverables, and deliver updates to executives.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable tailoring messaging by audience.
• High sense of ownership, adaptability, and ability to balance strategy with hands-on execution.
• Preferred: experience in fintech or regulated financial institutions, and tools like NetSuite, JIRA, Workiva, and Google Suite.
