Accountabilities:

• Accurately post medical charges, payments, and journal entries to patient accounts.
• Review and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper submissions.
• Verify insurance information and patient data, flagging potential coding issues.
• Follow up on unpaid claims within the billing cycle and appeal denied claims.
• Perform eligibility verification and pre-certification through online portals or phone calls.
• Conduct claim status calls with insurance companies and document updates.
• Process ERAs and EOBs from multiple systems and websites.
• Review patient bills for accuracy, completeness, and resolve any missing information.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in line with HIPAA regulations.
• Support credentialing tasks and denial management processes when required.

• Proven experience in medical billing, especially with insurance claims and coding issues.
• Strong understanding of billing processes, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance (HMO/PPO).
• Skilled in eligibility checks, claim follow-ups, charge entry, and denial resolution.
• Comfortable navigating billing software and handling electronic/paper claims.
• Exceptional organizational skills and a high level of accuracy.
• Effective communicator with the ability to coordinate across providers, patients, and payers.
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and data protection best practices.
• Credentialing knowledge is a plus.
