Estimator, Civil Construction- REMOTE U.S. Only - job 1 of 2

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Muller, Inc. We are currently looking for an Estimator, Civil Construction in the United States.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your analytical skills and civil construction knowledge in a fully remote setting. You will collaborate closely with senior team members to interpret civil plans, complete detailed take-offs, and develop accurate cost estimates for a variety of site development projects. Your contributions will directly impact proposal preparation and project bidding, supporting the growth and success of construction initiatives across a broad range of services including utilities, stormwater management, and site development. This position demands a blend of technical understanding, attention to detail, and proactive communication.

Accountabilities:

• Perform take-offs using Trimble Business Center – HCE software for civil construction projects.
• Evaluate site access, conditions, and production levels to inform proposals.
• Manage take-off and bidding processes for small site packages and Green Infrastructure (stormwater) installation projects.
• Collaborate with the Estimating Assistant to maintain bid matrices, calendars, and supporting documentation.
• Conduct linear take-offs from plans when required.
• Work alongside Superintendents to assess time, materials, and equipment for self-perform tasks.
• Prepare comprehensive proposals, identifying scope, assumptions, and exclusions.
• Submit proposals and follow up on their status with clients.
• Conduct site visits to verify scope of work as necessary.
• Facilitate smooth project handoff to the Operations Team upon proposal acceptance.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Science, Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or equivalent experience.
• Basic knowledge of heavy equipment and construction processes.
• Experience with earthwork take-off software and willingness to learn/use Trimble Business Center – HCE.
• Familiarity with site development components such as erosion & sediment control, clearing, earthwork, utilities, grading, concrete, paving, and stabilization.
• Experience bidding on stormwater facilities/BMP projects is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in interpreting civil plans and preparing cost estimates.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
• Self-motivated with good organizational and time management skills.
