Director of Product Management - Risk Platform

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Amount. We are currently looking for a Director of Product Management – Risk Platform in the United States.

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Product Management to lead the development and evolution of a comprehensive risk platform. This role provides the opportunity to define and execute the vision for platform services that underpin key financial decisioning products, leveraging APIs, machine learning, and AI to optimize risk management and fraud mitigation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution, and directly influence the scalability and innovation of core product offerings. Accountabilities

  • Define and champion the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for the risk platform, aligning with overall product and company objectives.
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle of shared platform services, including fraud detection, risk mitigation, income verification, and other decisioning services.
  • Lead the development of API-based services, ensuring robustness, scalability, and reusability across the product portfolio.
  • Guide the strategic direction and enhancement of ML/AI-driven products, identifying opportunities to optimize platform decision-making.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Product Managers, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, data science, risk, legal, compliance, and other stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize initiatives, and ensure successful delivery.
  • Manage vendor and third-party relationships to ensure alignment with platform strategy and goals.
  • Use data, market research, and competitive analysis to drive product decisions and evaluate the success of initiatives.
  • Communicate platform strategy, roadmap, and value proposition to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Product Management, including at least 3+ years managing SaaS platform products, APIs, or orchestrated platform services.
  • 3+ years of experience leading and mentoring Product Managers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience leveraging machine learning and AI to optimize product performance and business processes.
  • Strong technical understanding of APIs, service-oriented architectures, and ML/AI integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder influence skills.
  • Experience in financial services, fraud detection, KYC/AML, and orchestrated platform management preferred.
  • Track record of defining, launching, and scaling successful platform products from ideation to implementation.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Competitive base salary: $146,250 – $170,625 annually.
