This role leads the strategy, execution, and scaling of cloud infrastructure and core platform services to support mission-driven growth. As Director of Cloud & Platform Engineering, you will oversee SRE, DevOps, and Developer Experience teams, ensuring platform reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency. You will collaborate across engineering, product, data, and security teams to deliver modern cloud-native tools and services that empower engineers and support rapid innovation. The ideal candidate combines strategic leadership with technical expertise, mentoring managers, guiding complex initiatives, and enabling high-performing teams. This role is pivotal in shaping engineering culture, driving DevOps adoption, and ensuring robust cloud architecture for a rapidly evolving organization.

Accountabilities:

• Lead and scale SRE, DevOps, and Core Platform Services teams, managing managers to ensure high performance and professional growth.
• Define and execute cloud infrastructure strategy to ensure reliability, security, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Drive adoption of DevOps best practices, cloud-native tooling, and developer experience capabilities across the engineering organization.
• Partner with product, application, data, and security teams to deliver resilient, user-friendly internal tools and frameworks.
• Oversee complex projects and initiatives, making risk-informed tradeoffs and driving cross-functional collaboration for optimal outcomes.
• Manage cloud cost optimization and FinOps initiatives.
• Ensure cloud architecture, environments, and tooling meet quality, compliance, and regulatory standards.
• Mentor technical leaders, set technical vision, and measure team and project success against defined objectives.

• 10+ years leading DevOps, SRE, Developer Experience, Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering teams in SaaS environments.
• 8+ years of experience with cloud providers, primarily AWS, including Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud-native tooling.
• Proven track record managing managers and scaling engineering teams effectively.
• Experience delivering high-quality internal tools, SDKs, and engineering empowerment services used across multiple teams.
• Skilled in project management, including planning, risk mitigation, stakeholder communication, and tracking progress.
• Experience implementing DevOps culture and best practices, including CI/CD and automated monitoring.
• Strong knowledge of cloud cost management and optimization strategies (FinOps).

Preferred:

• Experience in mature startups or scaled engineering organizations (>150 engineers).
• Experience in HIPAA-compliant or similarly regulated environments.
• Demonstrated success in delivering exceptional developer experience through tools, frameworks, and processes.
