Database Administrator (Remote - US)

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to design, implement, and maintain mission-critical database systems across cloud and on-premises environments. This role focuses on ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and secure data management while supporting software development and operations teams. The successful candidate will guide best practices in database administration, automation, performance tuning, and lifecycle management, contributing to process improvement and technical innovation. You will handle installation, configuration, upgrades, and monitoring of multiple database technologies, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide expert-level guidance. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely in a dynamic, collaborative environment with exposure to cutting-edge database architectures and cloud platforms.

Accountabilities

• Manage full database lifecycle including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, backups, and recovery.
• Support mission-critical Oracle, MySQL, and MongoDB database environments with high availability and reliability.
• Administer Oracle EBS environments, including concurrent managers, workflows, and performance tuning.
• Implement enhancements to improve database performance, security, and reliability.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, and Operations teams to define database structures, operational guidelines, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database and application issues in real time, providing problem resolution and documentation.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24x7 support coverage.
• Mentor team members and drive automation for database deployment and monitoring.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle, MySQL, and MongoDB in 24x7 mission-critical environments.
• Proven experience managing Oracle EBS environments, including installation, patching, cloning, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology and ITIL framework.
• Knowledge of database automation and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible).
• AWS experience (4+ years) supporting scalable, mission-critical database architecture preferred.
• SQL proficiency with query writing, profiling, and optimization (2+ years preferred).
• Understanding of Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, and data modeling is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
