About Us
At iota Biosciences, we're pioneering an entirely new form of medicine. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Astellas Pharma US, we're creating bioelectronic medical implants that treat chronic diseases in ways pharmaceuticals never could. Our wireless technology powers and communicates with implanted devices, giving clinicians a new way to treat illness.
This is your chance to be a part of groundbreaking engineering work that directly shapes the future of patient care. At iota, ideas get built, tested, and put into the hands of clinicians who are changing lives for the better.
We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technician to support in the development of our cutting-edge Class III medical devices. This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role where you’ll get to work with a talented team of engineers across mechanical, electrical, biomedical and materials disciplines. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves solving complex technical challenges, and gets excited about building things that matter.
What Makes This Role Unique?
What makes this role unique is the breadth and ownership you’ll have. One day you might be assembling a new prototype with our engineering team, and the next you’re independently setting up a test to validate performance. You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team where your ideas and observations are valued, and where the work you do has a direct impact on patient lives.
If you’re someone who thrives on variety, precision, and working at the intersection of science and engineering, this is a role where you’ll see your contributions turn into tangible progress.
What You’ll Do
Build and assemble prototypes of next-generation medical devices using manufacturing equipment such as laser welders/cutters, hand tools, drill presses, and 3D printers, etc.
Perform incoming inspection of components and assemblies.
Perform dimensional inspections using calipers and optical measurement tools
Execute testing protocols – operate mechanical, electrical and electrochemical test equipment, record results with precision, and generate clear reports.
Troubleshoot test setups, maintain equipment, and help refine processes as we scale.
Champion safety and compliance while working in a regulated lab environment
Key Qualifications
Proven hands-on experience with prototyping tools, such as 3D printers and laser cutters/welders, and test equipment.
Knowledge and experience with interpreting and reading 2D drawings.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering or related field.
CNC mill/lathe operation and programming experience.
Experience with operating and programming optical inspection equipment.
Familiarity with regulated industries (medical devices, pharma, aerospace).
Why You’ll Love Working with Us
Mission with Impact: See your work directly enable life-changing therapies.
Cutting edge technology: Work on a medical device that is redefining what’s possible.
Culture: We value curiosity, collaboration, and a shared drive to build something extraordinary.
