About the Role 

ICBD is seeking a Director of Financial Systems, Automation & AI to lead the transformation of our Finance function during a period of extraordinary growth. This strategic, hands-on leader will bridge Finance, Accounting, IT, and Operations—introducing automation and AI-enabled solutions that optimize workflows, reduce manual effort, and empower high-performing teams.

From scaling financial systems to deploying cutting-edge AI tools, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our Finance operations evolve in lockstep with our business trajectory.

Key Responsibilities 

Financial Systems Strategy & Ownership

• Oversee core Finance systems to ensure alignment with evolving business needs.
• Partner with Finance leadership to design a roadmap for automation and AI adoption.
• Evaluate and implement technology solutions that reduce manual effort, enhance efficiency, and scale with growth.
• Manage system upgrades and proactively analyze new features or functionality, determining when and how to roll them out to maximize business value.
• Lead communication and training for any upgrades or new features, ensuring Finance staff fully adopt and benefit from them.
• Handle day-to-day Finance system support, resolving issues internally where possible to reduce reliance on IT.
• Build relationships with Finance system software providers to understand their product roadmaps.
• Participate in beta and preview programs to gain early access to new features and technologies, ensuring Finance stays ahead of the curve.
• Lead large-scale Finance system implementations or migrations, managing projects end-to-end with IT and business partners.
• Champion a culture of efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement across Finance systems.

Process Optimization, Automation & AI  

• Re-engineer core Finance processes (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report).
• Introduce AI and automation tools (e.g., anomaly detection, predictive analytics, workflow automation) to streamline repetitive work and accelerate close cycles.
• Establish governance and controls while ensuring flexibility for changing business demands.
• Deploy AI-driven analytics and dashboards to provide leadership with actionable insights.

Demand Management & Prioritization

• Serve as the central point of intake for Finance system and process requests from the business.
• Coordinate and balance demands across core Finance functions (Accounts Payable, Procurement, Treasury, General Ledger, Tax, FP&A) and ensuring alignment with Finance and company objectives.
• Assess, prioritize, and sequence requests based on impact, urgency, and resource availability.
• Partner with IT for execution when technical resources or integrations are required, while keeping Finance in control of priorities.
• Facilitate communication and alignment across Finance, Sales, Operations, and IT to ensure transparency and trade-offs are understood.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Translate Finance and Accounting requirements into system and AI solutions in partnership with IT and Operations.
• Lead change management initiatives to drive adoption of new technologies.
• Train, mentor, and empower staff to use automation and AI effectively, improving morale and productivity.

• 8+ years in finance, accounting, or financial systems, ideally within high-growth companies.
• Experience deploying automation and/or AI tools in finance operations.
• Proven success in process re-engineering, workflow optimization, and large-scale finance system implementations.
• Hands-on experience handling finance system support issues without requiring IT involvement.
• Demonstrated ability to manage business demand, prioritize competing requests, and coordinate across Finance (AP, Procurement, Treasury, GL, Tax, FP&A)
• Strong project management and change management skills, including communication of upgrades and new features.
• Excellent communication skills; able to bridge Finance, IT, and Operations effectively.
• Track record of helping finance teams scale efficiently while improving engagement and morale.
• Exposure to high-growth or technology-driven business models.
• Familiarity with AI applications in finance (e.g., predictive forecasting, transaction categorization, reconciliations, reporting automation).
• Experience leading system upgrades, evaluating new product features, and rolling out enhancements with clear communication and adoption strategies.
• Participation in vendor roadmap discussions, customer advisory boards, and beta/preview programs to influence and adopt emerging technology.
