Skills
- Deep GraphQL expertise and proven API design skills
- Experience building and scaling APIs that handle millions/billions of calls
- Experience creating SDKs and developer tooling (TypeScript, Python, Ruby, or similar)
- Strong focus on performance, observability, authentication, pagination, and error ergonomics
- Proven mentorship and technical leadership experience
- U.S. work authorization (no sponsorship provided)
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale GraphQL APIs optimized for speed, reliability, and clarity.
- Define and champion API architecture, standards, and best practices for the platform.
- Develop and maintain SDKs, developer tools, and documentation to accelerate integrations.
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to shape the API roadmap and translate developer feedback into platform work.
- Improve observability, performance monitoring, and error handling across the API ecosystem.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to engineers, driving cross-team architectural decisions.
- Drive developer experience improvements from schema design through error ergonomics and versioning.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced degree in a technical field is a plus
