Staff Technical Program Manager

We are seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join the Analytics team, operating at the intersection of Engineering, Data Science, Product Management, and cross-functional leadership. This individual will be working with the Engineering Pods, Product Managers, Product Operations, Security, SRE, and Leadership teams. This candidate plays a critical role in ensuring the successful and timely delivery of high-impact product features and capabilities.

The Staff TPM will serve as a trusted partner to both Engineering and Product, driving alignment on priorities, owning execution plans, emphasizing data quality, optimizing model performance across products, and integrating data science methodology with feature development. This person is fully accountable for end-to-end delivery, from planning, risk mitigation, and scoping through implementation and release, ensuring outcomes meet both technical and business objectives. In addition, this candidate is expected to proactively identify and remove roadblocks to delivery.

This role requires a strong technical data science and analytics background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence and coordinate across a broad range of stakeholders across different timezones. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, brings structure to ambiguity, and is passionate about innovation and execution excellence.

In this role, the Staff TPM will work closely with Engineering leadership to drive operational rigor, and with Product leadership to ensure delivered solutions are aligned with our customer needs and strategic goals.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Own and be accountable for program areas on the Data Science and Analytics team, driving the end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional initiatives from initiation through launch and post-release success

• Familiarity with data science and analytics principals and model development to leverage scientific principles to develop actionable insights and strategies from data 

• Facilitate discussions with a holistic lens to data science and analytics, taking the entire data lifecycle and its impact on business outcomes into consideration

• Cultivate a culture and collaboration between stakeholders to promote understand the context, effective data collection, integration, and utilization

• Navigate ambiguity and evaluate complex situations, making data-informed decisions and aligning stakeholders to drive toward shared goals

• Continuously assess and evolve key areas for improvement, implement scalable solutions, and foster a culture of continuous improvement that increases efficiency, execution quality, and team collaboration

• Identify, manage, and coordinate dependencies and integrations across projects, teams, and systems to ensure smooth execution and alignment

• Thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments, adapting to shifting priorities and evolving business needs with composure and focus

• Facilitate program governance by identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing risks, and developing mitigation and contingency plans

• Proactively manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables throughout the program lifecycle

• Communicate effectively at all organizational levels — through well-structured verbal updates, written summaries, and visual dashboards

• Lead cross-functional meetings and workshops, while guiding teams on best practices, process adherence, and delivery excellence

• Build and maintain detailed program and project schedules, highlighting key tasks, milestones, and critical paths across multiple teams.

Desired Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience managing complex, cross-functional software development or cloud infrastructure programs in a fast-paced environment

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus

• Experience with interdisciplinary teams, especially in data science or machine learning

• Firm understanding of predictive analytics and its use in business decisionmaking

• Professional Program/Project Management certifications a plus

• Experience leading programs using Cloud Technologies and understands agile tools and concepts

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Monday, Aha, or other project tracking and reporting tools is a plus

 


The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000 - $264,000 . Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan. In addition, some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan, commissions, and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, company and employee performance.
