Skills
- Deep knowledge of VMS (vitamins, minerals, supplements) plus home or personal care manufacturing
- Familiarity with FDA, EPA, FTC, FPLA regulatory frameworks and product labeling requirements
- Practical knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 19011, ISO 22716) and cGMPs
- Proficiency with statistical quality control tools (SQC, SPC, AQL)
- Experience creating and maintaining SDS and managing regulatory registrations
- Supplier audit and co-manufacturer management experience
- Strong written and verbal communication with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Hands-on factory experience and manufacturing troubleshooting ability
Responsibilities
- Lead artwork reviews and approvals to ensure on-pack claims and labeling meet FDA, EPA, FTC, FPLA and other regulatory requirements
- Create and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and manage regulatory registrations with FDA/EPA for products and facilities
- Develop and maintain quality systems, documentation, and product-specific quality standards across the portfolio
- Build and manage quality agreements with suppliers, co-manufacturers, and contract manufacturers (domestic and international)
- Establish inspection and sampling plans (AQL) and apply statistical quality control (SQC/SPC) to drive product quality
- Conduct supplier audits, on-site visits, and lead root cause investigations and CAPA to resolve quality issues
- Partner with R&D, Packaging, Brand, Legal, and Operations to substantiate claims, design safety testing, and support product launches
- Lead quality oversight during line trials, pilot runs, and new production launches and drive continuous improvement
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, or related field preferred
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., RAPS, SQF, HACCP) beneficial
