A Little More About this Role:
We are seeking a manager of the Financial Operations team that supports our stop loss insurance business. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Manager, Insurance Financial Operations is responsible for timely and accurate funding of stop loss claims, including maintaining accurate tracking of employer level-funded claim fund balances and calculation of aggregate advance funding.
You Will:
● Oversee funding for specific and aggregate stop loss claims from Gravie’s insurance captive - Risk Solutions Insurance Company
● Regularly review minimum aggregate attachment points
● Provide timely and accurate tracking of employer level-funded account balances by plan year on a monthly basis
● Partner with the Accounting team to ensure alignment of cash payments with journal entries and general ledger balances
● Manage and mentor insurance financial operations team
● Actively identify opportunities to streamline financial process and improve efficiency to allow for business support at scale
● Develop an understanding of key Health Plan Administration systems utilized by the insurance financial operations team and actively participate in testing, upgrades and other system enhancement projects
● Build strong cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders and create well-defined, repeatable processes that support continued growth
● Assist with the annual financial statement audit
● Review weekly claims invoices for self-funded and Health Reimbursement Account groups and ensure timely and accurate funding of the invoices
● Ensure compliance with state regulations as applicable to our members/groups in those states
● Assist on financial operations projects and initiatives as necessary
You Bring:
● Bachelor’s degree
● 5 years of experience in financial operations or relevant work experience
● Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUPs, macros, etc), Google Workspace and technology
● Ability to set priorities with excellent time management skills
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Extra Credit:
● Previous experience in level-funded or stop loss insurance
● Previous experience with banking platforms and financial accounting systems
● Previous experience with Tableau

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $150,000 annually. Numerous factors including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. will be considered when determining compensation.
