Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack, YouTube Ads

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end (e.g., C++, Java, Golang codebases), and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
  
• Experience with SQL/database querying technologies, full stack development, user understanding and analysis of user metrics and trends.
• Strong team collaboration skills, both within engineering as well as cross-functionally with Product Managers and UX Developers.

In this role, you will optimize the ways in which we deliver shopping ads to YouTube viewers. Shopping is one of YouTube Ads fastest growing businesses, and you will contribute to a critical pillar of the YouTube Shopping Ads overall outlook and strategy. As we look to engage with others in the industry, it is of utmost importance for us to innovate on the ad itself to make it personalized, informative, relevant, and most of all performance for our advertisers. You will incorporate new information about shopping products, optimize the content and presentation of the shopping ads, and drive strong impact for our users and customers by delivering on their advertising goals in a full-stack manner.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities:

• Develop deep expertise on the technical stack.
  Work cross-functionally with Product Managers, UX, and other Software Engineers to deliver on projects pertaining to Shopping Ads. Use a data-driven mindset to grow the business.
• Write and test product or system development code. Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
