As a Junior Software Engineer on the Software Architecture and Engineering Team, you’ll be part of a fast-moving, forward-thinking group that designs and builds custom software solutions for critical defense operations. This is your chance to grow your skills while working alongside seasoned engineers who are redefining how modern software supports national security.

You’ll contribute to real-world applications using industry best practices, participate in Agile product teams, and gain hands-on experience across the software development lifecycle. Whether your strengths are in front-end, back-end, or both, you’ll find mentorship, technical challenges, and purpose in everything you do.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands-on experience with at least 1 programming language (i.e. Java, Node/JavaScript, C#, Python, Perl).
• Hands-on experience with at least 1 database (i.e. Postgres, MSSQL, Oracle, MariaDB/MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Hands-on experience with at least 1 User Interface Frameworks (i.e. Bootstrap, JQuery, Vue, Next) preferred.
• Understands APIs, Microservices, and/or Server-Client application interactions and design, with hands-on experience in at least one of those areas.
• Full Stack Software Developers preferred. 

• Secret or Top Secret clearance.
• At least 1 year of software engineering experience.
• At least 6 months of experience in the commercial industry sector preferred.
• At least 6 months participating in code reviews for a team preferred.
• At least 1 year of hands-on coding experience in one of the following programming languages: C/C++, C#, Java, Go, NodeJS, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Perl, PHP.
• At least 6 months of hands-on coding experience designing and implementing databases and database schemas for a production software system (i.e. Postgres, MSSQL, Oracle, MariaDB/MySQL, MongoDB, Redis) preferred.
• At least 6 months of hands-on coding experience building and deploying production containerized software applications for either Docker, DockerSwarm, Kubernetes, or OpenShift (or similar) preferred.
• At least 6 months of hands-on coding experience with either ReactJS or Angular (or a similar front-end framework)(experience with ReactJS preferred) preferred.
• At least 6 months of hands-on coding experience with Data Caches, Data Indexes, Data Streams, or Data Queues (experience in all of these preferred) preferred.
• At least 6 months of experience developing and deploying production software applications in at least one of the following cloud providers: AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, preferred.
• At least 6 months of hands-on experience designing and implementing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) preferred.
