ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Field Engineer, Civil to join our team supporting the Uranium Processing Facility! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee

Responsibilities

  • Provide civil-related field and construction support activities at the Uranium Processing Facility.

  • Inspect concrete and grout, stairs and handrails, interior/architectural finishes, and pen seal releases.

  • Manage on-site civil construction and schedule adherence.

  • Assist with designing, constructing, and maintaining infrastructure while ensuring strict adherence to safety, regulatory, and quality standards.

  • Perform structural and seismic analysis.

  • Develop technical specifications.

  • Collaborate with engineering, trades, and other regulatory bodies.

  • Ensure compliance with ASME and ACI codes.

Requirements

  • Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience or a High School Diploma and 9+ years of relevant experience.

  • Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.

  • Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.

  • Must have experience with nuclear-specific codes and standards, such as ASME and ACI codes for structures.

  • Must be able to perform site visits, field assessments, and inspections.

  • Must have strong documentation, reporting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be physically able to work in various field conditions.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with DOE, DOD, and/or commercial nuclear construction projects is preferred.

About the Site

The Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) is a construction project at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee that is intended to modernize and replace aging facilities for uranium operations. Once complete, UPF will support the nation's nuclear weapons stockpile, naval reactors, and defense nuclear nonproliferation while ensuring the long-term safety, security, and viability of enriched uranium capabilities in the United States. (energy.gov).
