The Team
The Philanthropic Partnerships team (PPT) works to mobilize resources and build the next generation of champions for global health and development (GH&D), ensuring that philanthropy helps the world’s most vulnerable children survive and thrive. Alongside this, we help advance Philanthropy and grow giving around the world, strengthening the broader philanthropic ecosystem through issue agnostic communities such as The Giving Pledge.Your Role
Located in Seattle, WA, the Program Officer, Partner Outreach supports the Senior Program Officer, Partner Outreach to grow the pipeline of philanthropists engaged by the Philanthropic Partnerships Team. Partner Outreach identifies and cultivates potential high capacity donors to GH&D. Alongside this, it recruits signatories of the Giving Pledge, which is a non-solicitation, issue-agnostic affiliate program of the Gates Foundation.
The Program Officer will help implement strategies for opening relationships with prospective philanthropists globally and cultivating them to a point of handover to either the Giving Pledge or Partner Development teams as appropriate.
This role requires a proactive, creative drive to seek out or create opportunities to engage new philanthropists globally. This role is highly collaborative and cross-cutting. It will involve building extensive trusted relationships across the Gates Foundation, Philanthropic Partnerships Team and philanthropic sector. The Program Officer, Partner Outreach will be part of the team that drives the outreach work of foundation leadership, existing partners and valued intermediaries.
This role is located in our Seattle, WA offices. Our relocation benefit is available for the hired candidate if they do not currently reside in the Seattle, WA metro area.

What You'll Do
Plan strategically and think creatively to open and build trusted relationships with high-potential UHNWI who are committed to giving at scale
Ensure high quality and actionable handoffs of philanthropists to Partner Development or the Giving Pledge
Equally comfortable operating behind the scenes or personally leading relationship development
Prepare foundation leadership and others for outreach activities such as events and meetings with UHNWIs. This will include scheduling meetings, drafting briefing memos, and supporting follow-up
Strategically leverage and curate cultivation events such as small dinners or larger networking opportunities to drive to outcomes
Responsible for reputational due diligence on prospective partners and record maintenance
Work with Partner Intelligence on research and analysis of UHNWI to develop a strong pipeline of prospective new partners
Strategize to capitalize on conference attendance and event participation
Build and maintain data systems -- including Salesforce data entry -- about prospective partners to handle a large pipeline
Ability to travel 25%.
Your Experience
Bachelor degree required with demonstrated experience or equivalent.
7 years past experience in scaled development offices or working with high-net worth individuals, ideally in a global setting.
A strong track record of proactively achieving ambitious KPIs and goals.
A strategic mindset, and a passion for thoughtful high-touch relationship management, timely responses and strong attention to detail that drives outcomes.
Highly collaborative; flexibility and enthusiasm for working in a global and matrixed environment to achieve strong outcomes.
Skilled verbal and written communicator. Clear, concise writing skills for communicating with a broad & diverse audience.
Discretion and excellent judgment in handling confidential and sensitive initiatives and relationships.
Committed to data management and keeping records updated; demonstrated proficiency using data management tools including Salesforce.

The salary range for this role is $154,200 to $231,400 USD. We recognize high-wage market differences in Seattle, WA and Washington D.C., where our offices are located. The range for this role in these locations is $168,200 to $252,200 USD. As a mission-driven organization, we strive to balance competitive pay with our mission. New hires salaries are typically between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process.
