The Senior SEO Content Specialist creates high-quality, SEO-optimized content that grows G2’s readership, search visibility, and category leadership. This role blends exceptional writing ability with deep SEO expertise and AI-driven workflows to deliver impactful content at scale.
Beyond content creation, the Senior Specialist supports strategic initiatives, mentors junior writers, and experiments with innovative content formats that keep G2 ahead in an evolving SEO and LLM-driven discovery landscape. The ideal candidate thrives on deadlines, understands how content drives business outcomes, and brings forward fresh, data-informed ideas to evolve our strategy.
1. Strategic Projects & Initiatives
Take ownership of small-to-mid-scale SEO content initiatives, from ideation through execution.
Contribute to team-wide improvements by sharing knowledge, leading process refinements, and supporting cross-functional projects.
Partner with SEO, Product, and Marketing to align content strategies with business goals.
Be proactive in communicating progress and blockers, content performance insights, and learnings to managers and stakeholders.
2. Content Creation & AI Optimization
Write and publish 4–6 long-form, AI-optimized SEO articles per month, maintaining high editorial, AI Overview visibility, and SEO standards.
Identify high-impact opportunities through LLM and keyword research, competitor analysis, and industry trends.
Leverage AI-assisted workflows (e.g., G2 review analysis, SERP monitoring, content repurposing) to increase efficiency and uncover unique insights.
Peer review and mentor teammates by providing feedback on SEO, structure, tone, and competitive positioning.
3. Innovation & Growth
Experiment with new content formats and AI-driven strategies, such as interactive tools, data-driven storytelling, and multi-channel distribution.
Stay ahead of shifts in Google SERPs, LLM-driven discovery trends, and competitive content landscapes.
Regularly propose new opportunities in 1:1s, team meetings, and cross-functional syncs.
Act as a mentor and thought partner to junior writers, helping elevate the team’s collective work.
You’re curious about where search is headed and understand how SEO, AI, and LLM-driven discovery are changing the way buyers find and evaluate software.
Writing is your super skill. Whether it’s a data-driven blog post, a thought-leadership piece, or a deep-dive guide, you can produce content that’s not just polished but genuinely valuable.
You spot high-impact opportunities and hold a record for executing them to drive success. You are curious about how new discovery models (from search engines to AI-driven platforms) shape those opportunities.

3–5 years of experience writing and optimizing long-form SEO content, ideally in SaaS, IT, or B2B tech.
Strong writing portfolio that demonstrates SEO-driven results.
Advanced editorial skills, including AP style and American English.
Expertise in SEO best practices and keyword-driven strategy.
Ability to independently manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Proficiency with CMS platforms (HubSpot preferred).
Hands-on experience with SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, or similar tools).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both peer and upward reporting.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
Familiarity with AI-powered content tools and workflows.
Graphic design or multimedia content creation skills.
Prior B2B SaaS writing experience.
