Skills
- Proven engineering leadership and team-building experience
- Strong technical foundation in at least one: TypeScript/Node.js, Java/Kotlin, or Ruby on Rails
- Hands-on AWS experience and familiarity with cloud-native patterns
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog
- Deep understanding of payments, invoicing, underwriting, and ledger systems
- Experience with high-throughput, reliable financial systems and compliance considerations
- Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management
- Comfort with agile practices (Scrum/Kanban) and metrics-driven management
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a high-performing Billing engineering team; set goals, provide coaching, and manage performance.
- Plan and deliver end-to-end engineering projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and budget adherence.
- Drive architecture and technical direction for billing, payments, invoicing, and ledger integrations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, finance, risk, and operations to align technical initiatives with business goals.
- Implement engineering best practices, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Use metrics and agile methodologies to improve team productivity and delivery predictability.
- Ensure compliance, security, and auditability of financial workflows and data.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required
- Master’s degree preferred
