We're thrilled to be scaling out a new AI team at 1Password, and we're looking for a Senior Developer to join us. This is a unique opportunity to define innovative ideas, shape our technical direction, and contribute to the execution of greenfield projects in the rapidly evolving field of AI.

The AI for Security team:

We’re on a mission to apply the latest in AI to make 1Password smarter, simpler, and more secure. Our team explores new ideas, trains models, and prototypes AI features that amplify value for our customers. You’ll bring hands-on experience with LLMs and ML infrastructure to help shape the next generation of security products.

As a Senior Developer, you bring significant, hands-on experience building tools and workflows with LLMs. You have a deep understanding of the current technologies' capabilities and constraints, and you have a clear vision for where AI is headed in the near future. You'll work in close partnership with our product, marketing, and partnerships teams to refine our roadmap and collaborate with key players to expand our reach and achieve our objectives.

This is a remote opportunity within the US and Canada.

What we're looking for:

• 5+ years of software development experience.

• 2+ years of experience building, training, and deploying ML/LLM models in production.

• Track record of iterating quickly on AI product ideas and shipping high-impact features.

• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical partners.

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with AWS Bedrock and related AI services.

• Background in infrastructure for AI (self-hosting, scaling, data pipelines).

• Proficiency in Golang or Rust.

• Familiarity with security or privacy-sensitive applications of AI.

• Contribute to the team’s technical direction, vision, and strategy in collaboration with other leaders.

• Drive project delivery and technical decision-making, influencing project success and course-correcting as necessary.

• Write code and solve complex technical problems both directly and through others.

• Inspire and mentor junior and intermediate developers to grow and deliver high impact.

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to achieve business outcomes on schedule.

USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $156,000 USD and $210,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $143,000 CAD and $193,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

While we are a remote-first company, travel for in-person engagement is a part of most roles.
