This is a non-union positionThe Sr Security Specialist is responsible for security and operations for Enbridge assets in the region. This will include implementing physical and personnel security programs expectations as well as other duties. The role will develop high level written documentation to support enterprise security objectives. The role will be a subject matter authority in all corporate security domains, a proven informal influencer and crisis manager, have extensive law enforcement or similar experience, and capable of assisting in sensitive investigations as needed.

Conduct and coordinate security assessments, penetration tests, threat elevation response, risk assessments, security training programs.
Primary liaison with local police and other security related authorities; ensure security readiness and preparedness for security emergencies.
Support efforts within emergency management, workplace safety, project management and contractor spaces as it relates to security
Advise, escalate, investigate and document security incidents, conduct root cause analyses and after-action reports
Provide operations support for the core set of security controls and programs (executive protection, access control, facility management, emergency response, and other security support)
Be the security risk lead for the region; identify and understand the nature of security/risks in the business environment, as well as recommend the application of appropriate controls and countermeasures to mitigate those risks.
Locally manage security crisis situations as a representative of the Enterprise Security team
Ensure regulatory compliance with applicable energy sector requirements.
Conduct Security risk assessments and or security vulnerability assessments.
Participate in large corporate event security planning and execution.
Develop and deliver security-related training and education.
Bachelor’s degree or similar post-secondary education and a minimum of 7-10 years progressively responsible experience including experience in areas such as physical security, emergency response, training, operations, regulatory, threat intelligence, security management, and program development.
7 to 10 years military or law enforcement experience.
Have a demonstrated network of law enforcement and intelligence contacts in the region.
Expert in conducting security risk assessment and or security vulnerability assessments.
Solid understanding of security and regulatory requirements applicable to the energy sector
Good project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of drafting security standards and other similar documents with little to no oversight/assistance
Proficient user of Microsoft Office Programs, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Work will be conducted mainly in the office environment.
