We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Developer to support the modernization of a data-sharing platform between multiple agencies, counties, and third-party vendors. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable cloud-native solutions on AWS, leveraging existing APIs and web services. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SOAP-based web services, MTOM attachments, and custom header implementation, and will collaborate closely with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver high-quality, efficient solutions.
• Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and others as needed.
• Implement serverless architectures using AWS Lambda functions and Python.
• Build and orchestrate workflows with AWS Step Functions and State Machines.
• Design, develop, and implement SOAP-based web services with custom headers for security, authentication, and data integrity.
• Implement MTOM attachments (e.g., PDFs) for efficient binary data transmission in web services.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Agile teams to refine user stories and iteratively deliver solutions.
• Ensure code quality, scalability, and performance through automated testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve development, testing, and production issues.
• Stay current with AWS services and best practices, and share knowledge within the team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proven experience with XML, XSD, WSDL, and related web service technologies.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing applications on AWS cloud services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3).
• Proficiency in Python programming; familiarity with other programming languages is a plus.
• Experience with AWS Step Functions and State Machines.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SCRUM framework.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience working on large-scale modernization projects or data-sharing platforms.
