As the Systems Engineer 2 – Mobile and Wearable Software, you'll be central to ensuring our Dexcom mobile and wearable applications meet the highest standards of safety, usability, and performance. Where you come in:
You will elicit, analyze, document, and manage end-to-end software requirements (feature needs, System requirements, SRS) for Dexcom's Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) mobile and wearable applications.
You will apply rigorous INCOSE guidelines to write clear, concise, complete, and testable product requirements, ensuring the highest standards of quality and traceability.
You will develop and maintain Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), use cases, and collaborate closely with Feature Owners (FOs) to define detailed user stories.
You will define and document interfaces between the mobile/wearable applications and other critical system components (e.g., the CGM device and the cloud platform).
You will collaborate with cross-functional software teams (e.g., SDK, Data Cloud Platform, Mobile App, Wearable App) to allocate requirements and ensure seamless system integration.
You will create and maintain strict traceability within Jama Connect, linking product requirements to interface specifications, design documentation, and Verification & Validation (V&V) test cases.
You will actively participate in design reviews and testing activities to ensure implemented features meet all documented software requirements and industry best practices for mobile application development.
What makes you successful:
You are familiar with ISO 13485, 14971 standards and are proficient in writing technical Hardware and System requirements per INCOSE/EARS standards for wearable medical devices.
You possess a strong technical understanding of mobile and wearable application architecture, including platform-specific considerations (iOS, Android, Wear OS).
You are proficient in applying recognized systems engineering standards (such as INCOSE guidelines) to ensure requirements are clear, unambiguous, and readily testable.
You have demonstrated expertise in utilizing the Jama Connect Requirements management tool for requirement authoring, traceability maintenance, and baseline management.
You have a proven ability to write clear, concise, and testable end-to-end software requirements, translating complex needs into actionable design inputs.
You are an excellent communicator, highly collaborative, and skilled at working effectively with Product Owners, V&V engineers, and software development teams to drive project alignment.
Nice to have:
You possess an INCOSE Associate or Certified Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP/CSEP) certification or other relevant Requirements Engineer certification.
You have familiarity with AI/ML copilot Large Language Models (LLMs) for Systems Engineering applications.

Experience and Education Requirements:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 2-5 years related experience or Master’s degree and 0-2 years equivalent experience.
