The Inside Sales Representative – Core Histology for Leica Biosystems is responsible for providing Sales Support for Core Histology Systems.

This position is part of the Commercial Team located in Deer Park, Illinois and will be on-site. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

You will be a part of the Inside Sales Team and report to the Inside Sales Manager.  If you thrive in a fast-paced leadership role and want to work to build a world-class Commercial Coordination organization—read on.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Review, qualify and pass Transformative Marketing Leads for the Core Histology vertical. Convert marketing generated leads (in-bound) for capital instruments and other categories as assigned
  • Understand broader sales opportunities: Understand the customer’s overall workflow, identify cross-selling opportunities and share these with colleagues in other sales verticals. Nurture leads that are not sales ready: Remain engaged with customers that are interested in Leica products, but not ready to purchase and ensure that Leica is their first choice when they purchase
  • Execute out-bound calling initiatives: Conduct targeted outreach to generate demand and drive additional growth beyond marketing generated leads
  • Establish processes for Inside Sales channel growth: Leverage the Danaher Business System (DBS) and best practices adopted by other Danaher operating companies to establish processes that will enable inside sales scale-up. Work with Core Histology Management /Inside Sales Leadership to develop new strategies and policies to promote revenue growth. Support strategies with statistical analysis and trends. Work with Regional Field Service Managers and Account managers to determine service strategies and service eligibility for specific customers and execute those strategies.
  • Utilize consultative sales techniques (e.g., Miller Heiman selling) to develop customer solutions. Create and assign opportunities in salesforce.com CRM system based off calling campaigns. Utilize MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) for developing standard work for inside sales and for analysis to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Associates degree
  • 3+ years of phone- and email-based sales experience.
  • Experience executing outbound calling campaigns and lead generation activities.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel – 10%

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • College degree with a focus in Life Sciences or Lab Medicine
  • 3+ years of phone- and email-based sales experience, both in a field-sales and inside-sales capacity
  • Speak and write English with native proficiency and communicate exceptionally well on the phone and online
  • Formal sales training (Miller Heiman, SPIN, Challenger etc.) and prior experience working in a CRM system for opportunity management is very beneficial
  • Experience in either business to business sales or marketing in a medical devices / healthcare industry environment would be very beneficial. Ability to understand complex instruments, and communicate differences to customers in a easy-to-understand manner

Pay transparency language for locations where it may be required by law:

The hourly range for this role is $27 – $35 per hour. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
