Our partner firm, A.J. Santye & Co. based in Somerville, NJ is hiring!

We are seeking an experienced Director of Tax, Audit & Accounting to join our team. This pivotal leadership role oversees all aspects of tax compliance, planning, audit, and accounting within the organization. The Director plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with tax laws and regulations, delivering high-quality audit services, and implementing strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maximizing overall financial efficiency.

What You’ll Do

• Lead all phases of tax planning, preparation, review, compliance, and research.

• Oversee preparation and review of Individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate returns.

• Direct and review audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting, ensuring adherence to professional standards and client expectations.

• Manage financial accounting functions, including month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

• Interpret tax laws, accounting standards, and regulations to provide strategic client recommendations.

• Manage engagement planning, staffing, scheduling, and workflow across tax, audit, and accounting services.

• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting and audit staff.

• Drive efficiencies and identify opportunities to expand client services.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA license (required).

• 7+ years of experience in a CPA firm, with demonstrated expertise in tax, audit, and financial accounting.

• Proficiency in UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office, and Intuit products (preferred).

• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.

• Detail-oriented with a positive, solution-focused mindset.

This position operates as part of a US East Coast-based team, with typical working hours aligning with EST to facilitate effective collaboration. We offer flexibility in managing your schedule to maintain a healthy work-life balance while meeting business needs.
