Senior Staff Backend Engineer (GOT)
Skills
- 5+ years developing and operating backend services and web applications
- Proven experience building high-performance, highly-available distributed systems
- Strong Java and Spring Framework development experience
- Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native operations
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, Cassandra)
- Experience managing high-throughput, low-latency mission-critical services
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain core Workflow Platform infrastructure (e.g., Temporal, Netflix Conductor)
- Benchmark platform performance, collect metrics, and publish results
- Ensure platform reliability and uptime (targeting ~99.995% availability)
- Estimate capacity and provision clusters for diverse customer workloads
- Implement production monitoring, alerting, and incident response for the platform
- Analyze OSS platform components and contribute to code-level improvements
- Investigate and resolve deep system issues and drive operational excellence
- Collaborate cross-functionally to make the platform extensible and open
Education
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, EE, or related engineering field (required)
- Master’s degree preferred
