The primary responsibility of Drafter is to deliver complete and accurate drafting outputs, including drawings, shop details, and bills of materials (BOMs) while ensuring high quality and on-time delivery aligned with customer-specific requirements. This role demands advanced technical knowledge of commercial building systems, pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMBs), detailing tools such as AutoCAD, and a deep understanding of interdepartmental processes and services. Strong proficiency in advanced trigonometry and geometry is also required.

Drafter 1

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Produce neat, accurate, and easy-to-follow fabrication documents that reflect design calculations and comply with manufacturing limitations.
• Provide clear and accurate permits, approval, and erection drawings that meet purchase order requirements and include all necessary erection details.
• Manage a dynamic schedule that may include last-minute additions or shifting priorities.
• Communicate needs and challenges with the team to ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Respond promptly to calls, emails, and other correspondence from customers, design, or manufacturing teams without causing delays.
• Offer expertise to resolve field issues quickly and deliver required documentation to support customer service without impacting the schedule.
• Strive for continual improvement in productivity, accuracy, and skill development.
• Safeguard the company’s interests during field modification investigations.
• Be willing to work overtime to meet critical deadlines when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Previous experience with PEMB (Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings) is not required.
• Experience using detailing software such as Tekla, AutoCAD, Trimble Connect, etc.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to different environments and collaborate effectively with others.
• Capable of learning document workflows and following detailed instructions.
• Able to work under pressure while adhering to established procedures and guidelines.
• Proficient in mathematical and trigonometric calculations.

EDUCATION / ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Create accurate permits, approval, and erection drawings that align with purchase order requirements and provide detailed instructions for material erection.

• Communicate needs, concerns, and obstacles with team members to ensure prompt issue resolution.
• Respond quickly and professionally to calls, emails, and other correspondence from customers, design teams, or manufacturing—without compromising schedule commitments.
• Offer expert support in resolving field issues and provide necessary documentation for customer service while minimizing schedule impact.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve productivity, accuracy, and overall performance.
• Safeguard company interests when investigating field modifications or deviations.
• Work additional hours when necessary to meet critical deadlines.

• Communicate effectively with Project Engineers, Design Engineers, and Detailers to resolve technical challenges promptly.
• Respond quickly and professionally to calls, emails, and other correspondence from customers, design, or manufacturing teams without impacting schedule commitments.
• Provide expert support in solving field problems and deliver necessary documentation to support customer service needs.
• Continuously improve productivity, accuracy, and skillset.
• Support and uphold drafting standards and best practices used by production detailers.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience using Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit, Trimble Connect, and other detailing software.
• Highly detail-oriented, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects through shop production and erection phases.
• Strong adaptability and effective collaboration in team-based environments.
• Ability to document workflows, optimize processes, and draft detailed instructions.
• Capable of performing under pressure while adhering to established procedures and guidelines.

The US base hourly range for this full-time position is $24.03-$46.15+ medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
