Skills
- Strong debugging skills for distributed, high-volume production systems
- Solid understanding of TCP, QUIC, and HTTP protocols
- Experience with Linux networking and systems-level programming
- Familiarity with CI/CD and git-based workflows
- Ability to reason about security and build secure systems
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and production observability
- Comfort working in multiple systems languages (bonus: Go or Rust)
- Experience with high-performance databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, ClickHouse)
- Ability to analyze large datasets to inform decisions
- Experience building fault-tolerant, elastic systems
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain systems that improve application and web performance at the edge
- Debug complex distributed systems across networking, proxying, caching, and origin connectivity
- Collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to ship features with high availability and low latency
- Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability for production services
- Participate in code reviews, CI/CD workflows, and release processes
- Optimize system throughput and resource usage, including network protocol-level tuning
- Analyze large datasets to drive performance improvements and detect anomalies
- Contribute to open source projects and internal tooling as appropriate
Education
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Graduate degrees welcome but not required
