Senior Backend Engineer
Skills
- 5+ years building production software at scale
- Proven experience with Ruby on Rails or comparable web frameworks
- Experience with transactional databases and caching systems
- Knowledge of architectural patterns for large-scale web applications
- Strong emphasis on maintainable, well-tested code and API design
- Familiarity with observability, performance tuning, and reliability practices
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, refactor and scale backend implementations for new and existing consumer product features
- Collaborate with mobile and cross-functional teams to design and build resilient APIs
- Own projects end-to-end, influencing architecture and implementation decisions
- Proactively identify and implement improvements to system reliability and scalability
- Uphold and improve engineering standards, testing, and code health across teams
Education
- BS/BA in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) is a plus but not required
