Risk managers are trusted partners who work side by side with the business to identify potential risks in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded. Risk Managers lead, advise and innovate on top transformational initiatives across the businesses in the first line of defense and are responsible for working with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. In this role, you will collaborate on cutting edge risk solutions and develop supporting presentations that transform complex analysis and concepts into compelling executive level narratives.
Responsibilities:
Deliver high impact executive level presentations and communicate effectively to drive alignment and investment
Distill complex analysis into strategic, decision driving insights and recommendations that withstand scrutiny and inspire confidence at the highest levels
Balance analytical rigor with visually striking and persuasive presentations that resonate with senior leadership
Synthesize data and reporting; perform analysis and bring valuable proactive business insights through evaluation of data provided by team analysts
Lead and strategically advise on risk reviews, audits, and exams, and risk mitigation activities.
Lead change management for new intent in alignment with Enterprise standards.
Effectively collaborate with and challenge business partners, 2nd line functions and 3rd line of defense
Drive and deliver results and improvements in line with the business’ well managed and risk agendas
Stay current on the changing regulatory environment and understand the impacts to the businesses
Act as a thought leader in providing guidance to businesses and supporting functions in implementing risk management practices
Identify broader needs and lead problem solving using risk forums to influence change and continuous improvement of risk management practices

Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
At least 4 years of Compliance, Legal, Audit, or first or second line Risk Management experience
At least 3 years of Project or Process Management experience
At least 3 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business
At least 2 years of experience creating and delivering presentations to senior audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk
4+ years of Compliance, Legal, Audit, or first or second line Risk Management experience
3+ years of experience in reporting and analyzing data
Professional certifications within risk management and/or assurance: Certified Risk Management Professional, Certified Internal Auditor,Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)
PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700 for Risk Manager
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
