Senior Project Manager

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the Program Management Office (PMO) within the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), an operating division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The PMO focuses on supporting strategic programs, defined as complex, high-priority initiatives that span the NHLBI and are funded through Other Transaction Authority (OTA) or multiple funding mechanisms. Additionally, the PMO provides project management and coordination for other high-priority projects and NHLBI-wide working groups.CAMRIS International, LLC, is a dynamic medical research and development firm that achieves innovative solutions to health and development challenges through high-quality, cost-effective programs and research management services. Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to Contractor staff. Mentor and support the professional development of team members.
  • Act as the Contractor’s primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including senior management and other departments.
  • Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and expectations.
  • Track and report on contract financials, including expenses and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive contract documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Serves as Deputy Operations Director, providing leadership and strategic direction for the program.
  • Also includes project coordinator and project manager responsibilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in an applicable field (e.g., science, public health, business or project management); a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrable experience in portfolio, program, and project management support. If the degree is not in a science-related field, at least five (5) years of that experience must be in a biomedical, pharmaceutical, biotech, academic medical center, or health-related organization.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrable experience in serving as a team lead/project lead position.
  • Operational program/project management experience for a federal agency strongly preferred.
  • Experience with an OTA preferred.
  • Experienced staff member of the organization with demonstrated ability in providing portfolio, program, and project management support.
  • Must understand project management principles and techniques and have project management work experience in a biomedical, pharmaceutical, biotech, academic medical center, or health-related organization.
  • Must exhibit the organization and management skills required to lead a team of project managers and project coordinators involved in many diverse programs and projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Possess the communication skills and attention to detail required to effectively coordinate projects across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience developing project management processes, tools, and templates to strengthen an organization’s project management approach.

  • Constantly communicate with others to exchange information.
  • Constantly assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.

  • Occasionally work in noisy environments.
